Modbus On Deif Delomatic DM400 Gas

Hi,

I’ve a couple of DM400 Gas engine controllers on a site that the client needs data collected from. The Modbus is on port 30000 which Ignition says has a connection, but trying to read the holding registers 0-880 doesn’t give anything back. I’ve added this in the Address section of the Modbus device setup in Ignition.
I’m back up there tomorrow so will try setting up the tags individually, but has anyone managed to get a connection to one with Ignition?

Cheers,
Mike.

Start by addressing one tag at a time, manually, and getting some kind of data.

Check that you’re using the right unit/slave ID.

Once you have data and start addressing multiple registers you may find you need to turn off the “Span Gaps” option in the driver settings.

Thanks Kevin - I managed to get it all working today. The Ignition modbus was connecting to the device on port 30000 as the manual stated but I did a port scan and also found port 502 the standard port was active, reading holding registers from 4001 with the zero offset off worked a treat.

Cheers,
Mike.
