I have connected my ignition project to a Modbus RTU device. Its connected serially but communicates over TCP/IP. Multiple system need to read the address from this address, but once Ignition establishes its connection it holds it blocking the other devices from communicating. Is there any setting that would disconnect from the device when no active communications are in process?
You’d have to disable the device.
If multiple systems need to communicate with it I’d recommend getting a proper Modbus TCP Gateway.
Thanks, that’s what we want to do but unfortunately another company controls that device and we currently only have the connection described. I can set it up through Kepware if needed. Thanks for the response.
