Named query permanently deleted with undo change

Hello,
Working with 8.1.43 (b2024082010) version, on MacOS 13.7.1 (22H221).
Is the third time in a day that this thing happen to me.

I open a previously written query from the named query module, make changes, then if I hit CTRL-Z a couple of times in a row, all the text from the query editor disappear, there is no way to bring it back and i've lost all the work since last backup.

Is there any way to NOT save the blank file when this happen?

Thank you

Writing this if anyone find himself in same situation.
When a modified named query file is closed, his name in the named queries menu is displayed in Italic.

Right click on the file and choose "Revert changes".
In my case this loaded back the original file.

I don't understand how it works, since i've saved the blank file to the gateway few times before i discover this feature.

Maybe the blank file is only a display bug and the content is still there inside the file.

When I want to edit a resource, no matter how minor the change, I always duplicate the resource. That way if something happens I have a backup resource that I can then rename back to the original name (of course deleting or renaming the edited resource).

I'm not discounting the issue you raise, but perhaps you would benefit from doing something similar so when weird things happen you are better prepared.

Maybe my response is not what you looking for.

But when this happens to me I simply do ctrl + Y to "redo" the "undo".

So ctrl + Z undo changes and ctrl + Y brings them back.

However, if this doesn't do it. You could still right click in the query and click Revert Changes. This will give you back the last saved version of that query.

I believe CTRL-Y will bring it back at the moment.
If not then use the recommendation by @mori.luca
