Need help setting up local smtp server

I’m having issues getting Ignition 7.8 to send emails using gmails smtp server. I’d like to use a local email server on the same machine to accomplish emailing notifications. But for the life of me can’t figure out what setup needs to happen between the softwares. I’m trying to use the freeware hmail as my local mail server.

What settings need to be in place to make something like this work?

If your OS is Linux, I recommend the msmtp forwarding tool.

Thanks, but the OS is Windows. I’ve found in other posts with similar problems, that there is a fix in 7.9.18, so I’m going to upgrade them and see if that fixes it.
