I need cheapest packages for SCADA that include communication with m241 plc with TCP, web interface for displaying dashboard (is there a way of displaying SCADA diagram on tablet without local hosting?) and history logs. Also, can't seem to find specs for this. Would something like Raspberry Pi be enough to run this?
You need Perspective to view it on a tablet. Note the above is limited to one viewing "seat" on the license. You could host this on a Pi, if the application was small enough. Larger projects require larger resources on the server.
There is also Ignition Edge panel at $1850 but you are limited to 35 days history with no database connections to expand this.
This is way over my budget, what about ignition edge panel? It doesn't host a website, but I can still run on local pc and just share the screen to the tablet right?
Ignition Edge is a package without storing a large portions of data constantly using SQL database right? I can still use that to connect to my PLC, in fact two of them, correct?
With the latest version of edge there is no longer a 2 device limit. Yes you can run perspective, 2 sessions, one on the local PC and one on a tablet.
With perspective, the clients are just limited to 2 sessions and both can be remote (one does not need to be local - that's only if using Vision).
You probably don’t need the Tag Historian Module and can log to a database via scripting instead.
If you’re considering the screen sharing route you could use Vision instead of Perspective to save a little.
