Network load for remote tag provider

We are designing an Ignition deployment on multiple site with a central enterprise gateway above it. With remote tag providers we want to centrally collect and historize data.

From IT we got the question if we can give a rough estimation of the expected network load when transmitting the data from one gateway to another. Are there resources available on how to calculate this based on an expected number of tags and changes, similar to calculating the required storage capacity of an historian.

Thanks for your help!

Not that I'm aware of, because the data sent is going to vary so heavily based on exactly how your tags are structured and their rates of change. Unless you're planning on literally hundreds of thousands of tags, data sent should be in the order of megabytes per day, not many many gigabytes, and should pose no issue to healthy, hardwired network links.
