New VM with Ignition Demo

has anyone been able to get the recently released Ubuntu VM with Demo Files to work properly?

I have to always manually start the Ignition Gateway using BUM ( love that acronym) . I cannot get the mobile module to work, as the Java path was not set in the gateway, after figuring out the Java path in Linux,
I now get :

java.lang.Exception: Timeout waiting for new VM

using VMWare Player V6.0 to run the VM

Any luck with this? Having the same issue on a Debian VM, cant get mobile app to launch
