We have deployed Ignition redundancy setup at our client's facility. Port number is set as 8088 in Master and Backup gateway. Redundancy is working correctly as expected. Master and Backup gateway are installed at 2 physically different servers. Do we need to set the port number different from each other or not?
Now we want to access the Master and Backup gateway through public IP address.
We know, ideally Backup gateway should not be accessed for development. However, how can we get access of backup gateway for observation? In this case port numbers would be different.
If you've installed Ignition on two separate servers (as would be typical for a redundant deployment), then you'd likely just keep the ports as-is on those systems. Configure the Public Address Settings under Config -> Networking -> Web Server accordingly within the gateway web UI on both the master and backup gateways (these settings can be configured for each respective server independently).
If you've got a single public IP address, then you'll need something like a reverse proxy to handle forwarding to the respective master/backup backends. Hard to say without more information on the architecture.
