i need help in access my gateway and designer.
I have Ignition installed on my local laptop. I have designer and may projects in it which is useful. I was changing the users and roles and for default user source i had removed Administrator role and added new roles. After this i am not able to access designer or config or status section of gateway. can you please help me resolving this issue. I have lot of projects in my gateway that i really dont want to loose.
You will need to use the gwcmd utility in the ignition install directory. Run it in cmd prompt with /? to see what the command is to add a new admin user

I tried using gwcmd but it did not worked as i was missing administrator role itself. I have the user but not able to add administrator role.
But the issue is resolved now i had tanken the backpup of my projects and uninstalled and reinstalled ignition. But it's very strange that usre can delete the Administrator role and once deleted and after session time out you won't be able to access config section to make any changes.
When you use gwcmd to reset the admin, it does not modify the existing user source, it creates a temporary user source with all of the necessary properties, and then makes you re-commission. After that, you must fix whatever was wrong with the permanent user source and then switch back to it.
For me gwcmd was not working properly. May be i was missing something in the command. As the issue was really big and i had to do some changes and work on my projects. Also i was hoping to not loose my projects so i took the backup and done the reinstallation. For now everything is fine. I will try to check for gwcmd command as well and see what was going wrong in that.
