Although It is heard every where that Linux OPC Servers are at development, still none seems to be available. Am I saying nonsenses or this is so?
The Ignition OPC-UA setup runs quite nicely on Linux.
Not necessarily complete, but openopc.sourceforge.net/ provides a nice toolkit for integrating OPC with python.
That uses OPC-DA/COM, which definitely won’t work on linux.
The site claims it has been tested on Linux. Curious for a DCOM based technology.
No problem, though. The Ignition OPC-UA server is much more mature, runs well on most platforms (Windows, Linux, OSX), and is free.
They don’t seem to mention it as a server though. Looks like it would act as an OPC tunnel to connect a non-windows client to a windows server.
