Is it possible to interlock two OPC tags? For example, if I have Tag1 on PLC1 and Tag1 on PLC2, I want to make it so editing the tag on either PLC will edit the tag on the other PLC with the same value. Essentially a tag “sync”.

So far I have accomplished this by using tag event scripts to write to the tag on PLC2 if PLC1 tag changes, and vice versa.

What I was hoping for was a sort of “Interlock” tag type, which contains two OPC tags and it keeps them in sync with one another.

This doesn't exist, so you'll have to settle for workarounds like the one you've already done.
