OPC to OPC Transaction group

I am able to use the transaction group for updating one plc from another but I am at a loss as to what is and isn't required on the action tab.

  1. Should the update mode be OPC to DB or Bidirectional OPC wins. Is the database even used for OPC to OPC communication?
  2. Is the database even used and if not is it better to prune it after an hour or so to avoid having a random table filling for no reason?
  3. Is there a way to monitor transaction groups for faults?
