OPC UA Event and alarm

Hello,

We have an usecase to create a realtime alarm, show Pareto of alarm and make a manual categorization of the defect.
We have an automation line with more than 10 000 alarms, we would like subscribe to alarm and event of OPC UA server of PLC Siemens to avoid create manually each alarm
It's possible with Ignition?

It's not possible right now.

Support for subscribing to OPC UA Events / Alarms and Conditions is planned for Ignition 8.3.

Ignition 8.3 will probably be released early next year, if that's what you're asking.

Is there a timeline for this? We have a need for this that has come up - just wondering if it’s soon or way down the list.

Not a firm timeline, but work has been in progress on supporting OPC UA Events via Event Streams. This is targeting 8.3.x.

This is a separate effort from some kind of explicit support for Alarms and Conditions, which are a specific kind of Event in OPC UA, via some kind of integration into the Alarm system such that they would show up as Alarms in the system and be viewable in an Alarm Status Table. This probably won't happen in 8.3 at all.

You could still receive the Alarm Events and act on them in some way in the Event Stream (e.g. via a system.opcua.acknowledge function that will probably come at the same time), but you won't get the full integration.
