Guys it is possible to import tags from a Controllogix program to the OPC-UA device, as I cannot connect to PLC while I am designing?

Well, you can either:

  1. Connect to the PLC, drag the tags into Ignition and then disconnect from the PLC

or

  1. Make a CSV file that you can import into Ignition. Tags can be imported / exported through CSV. So it may be possible to export tags from RSLogix and edit the file to make it a SQLTags CSV file.

Travis I cannot connect to PLC yet, I tried to import CSV from RSLogix 5000, but Ignition does not like the format???
Error is ‘Unknown CSV format’

you cannot directly import a rslogix csv. you will need to take the relevant data from the rslogix csv and merge it into a ignition tag csv

Oh OK, what a shame Ignition will not accept a RSLogix CSV import directly.
