Open Sourced Linux Router

Hey Guys. I dont know if many of you are involved with the networking side of things as much as I am forced to be, But if you need a solid, powerful cheap router, you should check out www.vyatta.org. It also has instrusion prevention, clustering, and various sorts of VPN ( IPsec/L2TP, OpenVPN, and PPTP).

It will run on x86 hardware, or like I do, inside a virtual machine. If you need help with setting it up, just post back here

I’ve had good luck in the past with m0n0wall as well (m0n0.ch/wall/)

I’ve got pfSense running at home - it’s a fork of m0n0wall and a little easier to use in my experience. pfsense.com/

“Untangle” looks pretty snazzy as well.

You can take a look at zeroshell too

zeroshell.net/

It has a CF image for embedding and a lots of features!

It also works smooth on virtualization platforms like ESX…
