Oracle database timeout valve

Is there anyway to change the timeout valve for an oracle database connection? I have a remote database connected over the internet and when running large queries or listing the tables in the query browser I get a “Read Timed Out.” Is there anyway to fix this?

Also, the status page on the gateway always shows the status of this connection as “Unknown.” Is there anyway to fix this as well?

I think that timeout is occurring between the Client/Designer and the Gateway. In the Designer, go to Configuration > Properties and under Client > Timing you can affect the read timeout.

As for why the connection status is unknown, this is harder to say. Is the connection to Oracle the only connection that is configured?
