I was wondering if anyone has attempted to integrate ignition edge, into the Overview AI OV20i camera? I know that the camera is Ubuntu 18, but I feel if anyone had any pointers, we might be able to help bring ignition to a new product with excellent capabilities. I’ve googled, and didn’t find any intertwining of the two, so that’s why I am putting my idea out here to get the creative juices flowing for people much smarter than I am.
Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (Bionic Beaver) released in April 2018
It reached the end of standard five-year support in May 2023

If it's not running a super weird system architecture, you might be able to get Java/Ignition running on it; possibly with some amount of hacking around our built in runtimes if we don't support the right flavor of (probably) ARM.
I'm not sure it's going to be a good experience, though. Generally speaking hardware devices are running with the lowest amount of headroom they can get away with, so there won't be a lot of room there for Ignition.
Hey, Apps Engineer from Overview here.
The OV20i cameras already have Node-RED running on them, and the Ignition palettes are preinstalled. If you have the camera and are connected to it, you can connect your Ignition instance to the camera by following this guide:
