I’m running Ignition 7.9.3 and it doesn’t seem like I can paste objects into an existing group. Is there a certain way to do this or am I stuck ungrouping and regrouping?
You have to be editing the group to paste into the group.
On the component, double click on the group, a pink border should appear denoting that you are editing the group, then paste.
NOTE: You can only paste into a group on the window not from the tree.
I’ve found that this doesn’t always work for some reason. With the group active and highlighted with the pink border, if I paste it’ll paste into the root container rather than the group. It seems to do this if I have the designer open for extended periods of time. If I close out of it and reopen it, pasting into a group works as expected.
