Persisted SFC restarted from "Begin Step" only?

Hello,

I actually explore the SFC module. I noticed that there was a “Persist State” checkbox.
Correct me if I’m wrong but the idea is to save the state (Running, paused…) of the sfc and its parameters but NOT its actual step.
Meaning that, on a Gateway restart, the Chart will restart (if it was Running) from the beginning ( Begin Step) and not from the step it was before restarting the Gateway. Is this correct ?

If yes, is there a way to fully restore the chart to the step it was at before the Gateway restart ?

It seems that this problem does not ring a bell to anyone. But I still can not figure how to make the “Persist State” to work.

I have made a small SFc in order to test this function but, on Gateway restart, neither state nor current step are persisted.

I must probably miss something, but I don’t know what.

Any idea ?

Ignition versions used are 7.7.5 and 7.8.0 (64bits)
