Perspective and regional settings under Ubuntu

I'm running a Perpsective session on an Ubuntu powered desktop configured as follows

Therefore I expect to input numbers with a comma decimal point separator, whereas I have to use a point separator. My question: is Ignition looking at the Language settings rather then Formats?

It is likely looking for en-it, which probably doesn't exist in java. So it falls back to the popular en-us.
