LIDT Technologies have released a Drag & Drop Module for Ignition Perspective platform, built for creating dynamic, operator-configurable HMI interfaces.
The module adds three components to the Perspective palette — DraggableContainer, DroppableContainer, and DataDropContainer — that let users drag views between containers while automatically preserving and transferring tag data through UDT-aware configuration logic.
Some of what it enables:
→ Operators customizing their own workspaces by dragging equipment views where they need them
→ UDT-aware data transfer that intelligently maps tag paths, including member-level drill-down
→ Dynamic view selection that scans project views for compatible dropConfig entries at runtime
→ A DataDropContainer for collecting tag paths to feed trend charts, alarm lists, and reports
→ Full component event lifecycle with view hierarchy context for scripting in nested view structures
→ Configurable drag-over visual feedback and fully styleable selection dialogs
Compatible with Ignition 8.1.33+ and 8.3.0+.
