Perspective on tablet with WIFI connection

Hello, we have a customer request to digitalize maintenance forms (currently on paper). The client already has a gateway with a few perspective sessions. the ideal solution would be to add those forms in ignition and store the forms in a DB.

The maintenance crew will be provided with a tablet that would be connected on the gateway's network via WIFI. The tablet will be used in a outside setting and a Wi-Fi antenna is already installed. This is straightforward, but we are having doubts if the tablet loses connection with the gateway.
Is there a way to locally store data on the tablet when the session losses connection to the gateway? EDGE seems to have a feature to "store and forward" historical data when connection is lost, is there a feature available that could help us?

Thanks

Perspective currently requires an active connection to the gateway at all times, but an "offline mode" that allows limited form data collection and submission offline is planned for the next major release, 8.3, to be released no earlier than the end of this year.
