Perspective - P&ID

Hello guys,

I’m new to Ignition Perspective. I’ve completed all the courses from Inductive University, but I have a question. I want to design a P&ID diagram using custom shapes for tanks, valves, etc., but I noticed that Perspective doesn’t have an editor like typical CAD or Vision. I found that I can use Labels to create shapes, but that seems a bit weird. Can someone help by suggesting a good strategy for designing P&ID diagrams in Perspective?

As far as I know there are some symbols on the Components

you can also use icons,
many people import customized .svg images as seen on

i have 15-20 svg images used in my project and all of them are above 100 kB, each one around 200 kB to 300 kB. can it cause a performance issue ? i am unable to reduce size further and i tried inkscape and other options. any suggestions ? thanks

Perspective doesn’t have an editor like typical CAD or Vision.

It will have that in 8.3, but in the meantime people create their custom SVGs (in programs like Inkscape) and import them.
