Hello all,
I know you will roll your eyes at this question however I have emptied my bag of tricks and am stumped. I have put together 15 or so different pages and wanted to redesign my home page. I understand that in order to denote a startup we use the forward slash (/) and I have but no matter what I have tried the old home page comes up. I am using 8.1.44 and have taken all nav addressing away from the old home page and even created a NAV button pointed directly to the new startup page but it continuously brings me back to the old page. I thought that my new creation under "page" might be an issue so I moved it under "view" in the tree but this had the same result. My apologies in advance for being the village idiot here but all has worked for me in the past.
URL = /
and primary view is page/speed_home.
I have saved and re-saved BTW!
Silly stuff first: You did save the project, didn't you!
Show a nicely cropped screengrab of the Page Configuration dialog with "/ → View" selected.
Oh, and welcome to the forum.
Thank you for the welcome. I have read and videoed myself blue!
That looks OK to me.
"Page/SPEED_HOME" was selected from the dropdown (which should be foolproof) rather than typed in?
I normally launch by using F10. Does that make any difference?
No, same result. I went to a page and selected a button, right clicked-->configure events-->on mouse click and selected the new page (speed_home from the drop down. I saved it and went to this page and clicked the above button and it takes me to the old startup page. The new page was copied from the old page that keeps popping up. I then modified the page and renamed it to speed_home. Is there anything that would "carry over" from the duplicate function that still identifies the new page as the old one maybe?
OK, that's a different problem than what I assumed from your first post.
Does F10 launch the new home page?
If so, then let's see your button's mouse click configuration.
F10 still brings up the old page. I cannot seem to get the speed_home page to launch no matter what. I only programmed the mouse click NAV to see it launch.
That looks OK.
My last idea is that your browser is caching something. Try Incognito Mode or a different browser.
If that doesn't work then we'll have to wait for someone with better ideas.
Do you have any view params configured on your SPEED_HOME view? It's possible they could be interfering with your view URL if not properly defined. You could also try setting another page as the default home page (/PASADENA
for example) just to see if it really is a problem with the page configuration or something else. Other than that, what Transistor said is most likely the cause - something related to browser cacheing.
