Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a small change I made to an alarm history screen in Perspective.
My original layout kept both the alarm status and alarm history views loaded, even though users only needed to see one at a time. I changed the layout to load the selected view, and adjusted the history screen to query only when it is first opened or when the user clicks a Refresh button.
This avoids repeatedly querying historical data while someone is simply reviewing the results. The live alarm status screen remains separate, since it serves a different purpose.
I also added a timestamp showing when the history query finished, so users can tell when the displayed results were last refreshed.
For my use case, this made the history screen more predictable and reduced unnecessary database queries. A simple change, but a useful one when working with larger alarm journals.
