Ping an ip and make a readable display

I have been researching into this and I cant find a solution. Perhaps I haven’t research enough.

Basically, I want to periodically ping my motor controllers (VFDs) and have some sort of green or red display on my screen so I know if the controller has tripped. I just have 2 controllers, and we have a very small setup. Thanks in advance for any tips or advice!

Thanks for the link to my answer. I think it may have been bettered by an some additions on the Ignition Exchange. Search for ‘ping’.

I haven’t had a chance to try any of them yet. Let me know how much use they are.

Don’t really know your application, but I use Modbus/Tcp to get various infomation from the Vfd’s that we use. You can get so much more data then just a “Ping” response.
