Running a test version of 7.7 on a LAMP stack (Ubuntu 14.04).
When saving and publishing I get an alert “could not update production model state”.
What cold possibly cause this?

What is the Version number of the Production module that you are running on that gateway ? You can check this on the gateway webpage ->Configure->Configuration->Modules.

I am also having trouble with mysql syntax in mysql-workbench…
…I think it may be an issue with a recent Ubuntu mysql upgrade,
