Quantifiable java performance difference between windows and linux?

Searching google there seems to be an overall assessment that java performs better on Linux than Windows. I choose to run Ignition on Linux because one, I’m comfortable with it, and two, I can run Linux headless with much lower baseline memory consumption.

Has anyone tried to objectively test Ignition performance of Linux vs Windows?

Not to my knowledge. There’s so much noise that I think it would be hard to get a true apples to apples comparison.
For a large number of reasons, I generally agree with the decision to host production gateways on Linux systems, but in practice it’s usually cheaper to buy a more powerful server than retrain whoever is going to be managing your gateway.

Thanks for the data point at least!

In my case, I would be the manager/admin of the gateway so no issues there.
