"Remember me on this device" Not working?

I've never been able to get this feature working. I launch a designer session, login via IdP and check the remember me checkbox and then try to open another Designer session I just get asked for my login again with the username empty.

My IdP remember me setting is set to 12000:

Am I missing something?

I thought that was only intended for the gateway web UI, not designers?

I login via the idp for access to my designer sessions, and the option is there so I'd hope it would work there too

I’ve never been able to get it working reliably either (and I keep getting requests to fix it). Running on 8.1.37.
