Replicate OPC-DA COM Connection from Vision to Perspective

Hello!

In order to use tags from project in Vision in project in Perspective I need to replicate the OPC-DA COM already setup in Vision.

I do these steps but doesn´t seem to work

1st

2nd

3rd

4th

5th I just copy and paste the ProgId I saw in Vision Gateway (do I need to configure this?)

6th

Any Ideas what I may be doing wrong? maybe just the IP on Server address is not the right one?

If so there is a way I can find the IP adress in Vision Gateway?

Thanks for your help!!!

No. Tags, and therefore how they are configured are visualization module and project agnostic.

You do not need to do anything to use tags in Perspective that are already used in Vision.

In other words there is no reason you need to create another OPC-DA connection, just use the original.

Thanks Louis @lrose

How could I find the Error that doesn´t let the tags get the dat from the source?

I got this error

I'm not sure, but there is some issue with the configuration which could be any number of issues.

Check the gateway logs for that connection, make sure its connected, make sure the gateway can reach that end point.

Either way, that error is completely separate from Vision or Perspective.

If you need immediate support then you should contact IA and have them look over your sholder.

Seem like th OPC-UA Server is connected, may I need to reconfigure it.

Notice that in this screen shot the OPC UA server is named Ignition OPC UA Server, but in the earlier diagnostics snip, the error is "Server "Ignition OPC-UA Server" does not exist" . One has a "-" the other does not.

In your tag configuration change the name of the OPC Server to match what is actually configured on the Gateway.

Ok, thanks @lrose , will try that!

Yes, the OPconnection is called OPC UA in Vision by default and OPC UA in Perspective by default.

thanks a lot for the finding

You keep talking about Vision vs Perspective.

Your choice of visualization system has no impact on your tags, OPC connections, or other gateway config.

It sounds like you just have two different gateways, which went through different upgrade processes. You're at minimum confusing yourself and the rest of us if you keep referring to these two gateways by their choice of visualization systems (which are not mutually exclusive, I'll further add).
