I have an SQL dB that I can report. Does or has anyone created a 'report' that allows a click on an index line? I'd like to move said data out of the report into memory tags for editing. I have a dB with users and credentials that I'd like a point-click edit/delete option on.
- Put the results of the query in a custom dataset property.
- Display the results in a table with the data property binding pointing to the dataset.
- Hide any columns that you don’t want to see on the table only. Leave the dataset complete.
- Use the on click event to trigger a one time copy of the dataset row to individual custom properties.
- Edit the individual custom properties as needed.
- Run the SQL update to save the data to the database.
- Refresh the original SQL query to update the table with the new data.
Reports are essentially PDF files. You can embed links for certain things, but a finished report is no longer an Ignition "thing".
If you want dynamic behavior, make a Perspective view and table display and you can make it as dynamic as you wish.
