I've deployed a project through the EAM and the formatting for the reports did not come through on the project. The data, tables, and table grouping do export/import correctly. I'm just losing the formatting.
This is happening with agents on same and different versions. For reference, the EAM and the agent I'm getting the project from is on 8.1.32 and one of the other agents that the project is going to is on 8.1.32 and another on 8.1.23
I didn't see any other posts with others having this issue.
We need more information on what's going wrong with the formatting. Does the formatting only look wrong in the completed report? Is it missing when the resource is opened in the designer?
EAM has no specific knowledge of reports -- it sees a report as a resource for the project and sends it in its entirety. (And it's been a while since I've worked on the project system, but the last time I did, reports were stored as a single file -- there would be no way to send everything but formatting.)
I'm referring specifically to the reports in the designer and not the report scheduler in the gateway. In the project, the text within the text shape in the table is blank, along with the formatting (font size, bold, center, etc.)
Along with checking for missing fonts (and if that's the cause, we need a bug ticket filed, because we shouldn't be that destructive if fonts are missing), I'd also check in the Designer console log for any errors.
I sent the "corrected" project from a 8.1.23 agent to one running 8.1.24 and the same loss of formatting happened. Additionally, the view that the report viewer was in broke and had an error that the source (report) was invalid. The underlying query wasn't generating any data in the preview.
However, I deleted the source prop from the report viewer, re-added it, then selected the report. Went to the report and suddenly it was working, along with the formatting coming back.
I'm perplexed...
Update3:
I was able to reliably reproduce the bug, so I'm submitting a bug report. This is concerning as we have 37 gateways that might be affected by this.
