We support an 8.1.33 system with alarm notification via SMS. The alarm pipelines renotify the roster when an alarm is not acknowledged, repeating every 30 minutes. Periodically alarms get stuck in the renotify pipeline even after they are acknowledged and/or cleared. I would say this happens about 1 out of 500 alarms and it has happened with multiple different alarms. This has been an issue with this system for years dating back to 7.9. We have engaged tech support on this and never could pinpoint the issue.
When this happens we get a call from our customer and we can see that the renotify pipeline is active even though the alarm is acknowledged and/or cleared. We can always fix the problem by restarting the alarm notification module from the gateway.
Is there a way to write a script to restart the alarm notification module? We would like to provide a button where an operator can restart this module from a client. This client has at least one operator on duty 24/7 and if their operators were trained to do this they could stop the roster from being texted every 30 minutes all night long.
