To preface, all my customers are internal. But that being said, there's divisions that deal with sensitive data that needs to restricted to the generic operator. I've recommended that they spin up their own DB so we can keep their data completely separate from the rest. But being that we use the same prod server for all our projects, is there any way to keep a random user from going into a tag tree view inside a random perspective project and pulling up data from their DB? Is there a way to hide that DB from all other projects and vice versa? Or is the best way to ask them to purchase their own gateway and just isolate the whole thing? I'm trying to keep costs as low as I can for them, but if no other alternative exists then I can go to them with that. Thanks for any help.
Not sure what you mean by this exactly.
Do users outside this secret division have Designer access?
Sorry I wasn't clear. Users outside this division don't have designer access, but by default we include an option in our perspective pages that allows users to search the tag tree so they can build custom reports in case our prebuilt reports don't have exactly what they want. We don't want those users to be able to see the 'secret' db when they go to the historical tag tree.
