In reviewing, we had an issue back in July 2021 with the 4.0.7 cirrus mqtt modules. The UDT tags at that time wouldn't communicate as soon as that was installed. 4.0.8 was then installed shortly thereafter that the issue was resolved.
In looking this morning at our tag database, we have roughly 4.3 million tags. Of which only 2,519 are NULL for the retired column. When looking further, the tags that has UDT's on mqtt where duplicated 40k-60k times in July when that 4.0.7 module was installed. That ultimately equaled 4,215,468 retired tags being produced.
The tag database table: dbo.sqlth_te is 754GB as a result.
So my question is this: What would be the best recommended approach for clearing up the expired tags from 2021? Are there other relationships outside of the table that would also have to be cleaned up? Aside from any historian data.
Partial example duplicate tag counts shown here Only concerned about the July 2021 duplicated. The October 2021 duplicates of (2) we know how those were done and part of the normal retired tags.
Thanks,
Casey
