S7-300 PLC Connection via Ethernet to USB converter Problem

I run Ignition-8.1.40 and I am trying to connect S7-300 via Ethernet to USB converter in my laptop. Though I can PING or access PLC via TIA portal, IGNITION does not connect. Any help ?

Hi,
From the image you provided i can see you set the "Hostname" field to "Test"...are you using a DNS resolver to reach the "Test" hostname?

If that's not the case, i would suggest you to look at the following IA doc and related IA University video:

The "Hostname" field is reserved for either a reachable hostname or an IP address, not the friendly-name of the device (That's what the "Name" field in the "General" section is reserved for).

Yes the issue was with the host name. First i tried the device IP in local address and then i read the entire manual.
