Downloaded the serial module from the download page for some proof of principle testing but quickly ran into errors (Port XXXX not open) and found the following topic:

Since I had not downloaded the BETA version (per the post) I struggled for some time because I was not explicitly opening the port. [color=#FF0000]I would suggest that you update the documentation before releasing the BETA version so that others do not run into this same issue.[/color]
