I am looking for input on best practice for setting up multiple licenses on a single edge gateway. The end customer instead of buying a single Standard Ignition license decided to buy 13 individual edge licenses (1 per HMI) all to be pointed at a single gateway. I have been looking into building individual containers in Docker to achieve this and actively cloning my VM to experiment with. Are these viable options or is there a better way to go about this?
You should have them talk to their IA salesperson to get that fixed. Among other things, without a full Ignition install to which to connect, you won't be able to hold more than five weeks of data.
Edge is almost never suitable by itself.
