Hi everyone, I have an unusual one for you. Has anyone ever had luck connecting to a Siemens ‘Power MEC’ controller (Modular Equipment Controller, model 1200E)? We have various devices networked via an old APOGEE Insight system. I can ping my MEC’s, but I only ever get a ‘connection refused: no further information’ error in Ignition when trying to set up a TCP Driver connection. As always, any help/info is greatly appreciated.
Can you normally connect to this unit with Putty over telnet?
Thank you for the reply. I had to ask a senior tech about your question as I have never heard of ‘Putty.’ Apparently, we connect to these remote MEC’s via a serial to IP converter box (a ‘micro-server’) that is part of the APOGEE line of products. So, I guess we don’t actually network directly to the MEC. It’s such an old system we’ll probably end up retrofitting to a more modern, Ignition friendly controller.
