SQL Server on same VM as Gateway?

Hi,

My company has recently purchased Ignition, and we are in the process of setting up the gateway on a VM. The question I have is, would it be practical to set up our SQL server on the same VM as our gateway?

It’s probably okay initially, but you may eventually need to move it to its own server if performance becomes an issue.

Thanks for the prompt response. Also, is there a preferred SQL server version that works best with Ignition 8.0? We are planning on using MSSQL Server 2017.

That falls within the support matrix so it should be fine.
