Sync data from Ignition Edge 8.3.1 to Ignition 8.1.51

Hi all

Are there any known issues with History Sync and Remote Alarm Journal in a setup with Ignition Edge 8.3.1 to a gateway with 8.1.51 or is it simply me being unable to make it work? I hope its all about me

The outgoing connection works ok (according to the Network Live Diagram)

History sync comes back with a warning on Edge side, but nothing on the main gateway.

Alarm Journal Sync comes up with an error on both sides.

You cannot. Syncing from 8.3 Edge to 8.1 is not supported.

Upgrade your central Ignition before you upgrade any Edge instances that communicate with it.

Ok, thx for your response.

I’m currently running multiple Ignition Edge gateways (v8.1.49) connected to a central Ignition Gateway (also v8.1.49).

I’m considering upgrading the central gateway to version 8.3.1, while keeping the Edge gateways on 8.1.49 for now.

I found gateway area network shows the security vulnerability warning, Are there any potential compatibility issues or functional limitations I should be aware of with this mixed-version?

Just that you have to allow Java Serialization in v8.3, since that is what v8.1 uses. Java Serialization is being phased out (replacing with Protobuf) as a proactive security measure.

Thank you for your response @pturmel
