when I click "edit tags" any variable, popup of edit tags doesn't come as this:
You might, at least, mention the Ignition version and Designer version. Post a neatly cropped screengrab of the Help | About window.
What happens if you double-click a tag?
Even if I right-clicked and clicked 'edit tags' or double-clicked, an empty window appeared until I closed and then opened the designer.
You need to quote the version (not "latest version") to be sure and to help anyone in the future. The current release version is ignition-8.1.38.
