This has happened at least three times in the past month for one of our customers. We have several tags which their ID's will retire in the sql_te table, and new Tag IDs will be generated for all these tags. However the historical data keeps writing to the old tags, and the new Tag IDs will only have two or three entries. The customer will report to me that their trends have no data for the past few days or so. I believe the trends are looking at the new Tag ID, even though the data is still being written to the old one.
The solution seems to be to open sql_te and unretire the old tags and delete the new ones. I have talked to Tech Support a couple of times on this about a year ago and they fixed it in this way, but I'm curious if this is a bug or if there is a reason this keeps happening? Has anyone else experienced this issue?
It seems to affect a similar group of tags each time. I don't know if it is all the exact same tags though.
