Tag multi instance wizard

The wizard updates are good, but is not always usable. I have already seen complex entries in UDT parameters

What would make a difference is a simular screen where you select the UDT and are then able to copy paste data from excell in the current table (see screenshot) containing the instance name and all parameters

A second thing is that that you can lookup existing instance of a udt, get it in a table and you are then able to change parameters

Looks like major improvements to the multi-instance wizard. Still not as capable as my spreadsheet import tool, which was inspired by the v8.1 wizard.

Can you expand a little bit on your suggestions? I'm not quite sure what you mean.

The multi-instance-wizard definitely isn't quite intended to cover all possible bases - there are plenty of other mechanisms for bulk creation of tags, Phil's spreadsheet approach included, but if there's (additional) low hanging fruit it would be nice to add it.

I think what they're referring to is that it would be nice to have a built-in way to bulk import tags from something like Excel or a CSV.

For instance, on my projects, I could have a spreadsheet with everything pre-populated to match the columns in the wizard so that I could copy from Excel with all these non-sequential/custom tag names and paste that into the form and click Create to bulk create all these tags. More likely I have a lot of tags that are all custom names and non-sequential of the same UDT and in the past I've written a script to import these, but if it were built-in it would be super helpful.

You can make an empty template for my spreadsheet tool to do this. For any particular CSV pattern you need.
