Tag not returning Value

I am making a transaction group for a few different machines. When making the group I assigned an item a tag path to get its machine ID:

and it works fine. When I tried to do this same exact thing for a different transaction group, it is returning a null.

I am now realizing that any new tags I am adding to a transaction group is not being populated with a value.

Even when I put in a triggered Expression Item, it is not showing the value

Any ideas why this is happening?

It should show a value after the transaction fires. If it doesn't then you probably have an exception which you can see below.
