Hi,
We are using a redundant Ignition 7.9.16 for a project.
We have 950.000+ tags in the same tag provider, on the same gateway. Since 1 month, it appears the tag provider “restart” without reason but also without any logs… So during ~10min every tag displayed is in bad quality because they are loading/refreshing.
By “loading”, I mean the tags cannot be displayed in the designer unlike the screen below.

Does someone know if there is any limit of tags in a tag provider?
Should it be a good idea to split the tags into 2 differents tag providers (but still on the same gateway) ?
Any help will be welcome.
Regards.
Florent
You really need to contact Support. This forum is not an official support venue.

The purpose of this post is to get some advice from other users, if there is any good practice.
And indeed in parallel we are contacting the support, but as I said any help will be welcome.
There's no limit of tags per provider - it's just up to how much your server can sustain (and all tags are not created equal; e.g. a memory tag is going to be less impact than an expression tag is going to be less impact than a query tag, etc).
I personally doubt splitting to two tag providers would work. The only way it would is if there's some linear data structure in the tag system, and while I'm not super familiar with the 7.9 tag system, I would consider it unlikely to be fundamentally limited in that way in 7.9. But, I'm also not an expert, so I could definitely be wrong.
