Tags Attached to SVG Elements Performance

Hello Everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone knows the difference in performance for changing SVG elements with a tag or having a separate SVG. For context I am redoing an old wonderware project and they attached tags to several identical rectangles of different colors to communicate component states where as I have been just changing the color of the rectangle in the elements of the SVG.

I am assuming my way is correct but I wanted input from more experienced users.

Having multiple SVG's is going to hurt your load time, but once loaded the performance would be the same for all intents.

If possible combine as many elements into one SVG as possible, this will help with your load time
