Hi all,
We have an Ignition (8.1.29 (b2023070609) acting as a Historian connected locally (same server) as a client to KEPSERVEREX via OPC-UA channel.
KEPSERVEREX is acting as a data hub, connecting to several devices (PLC, other systems…) and serving OPC data to several clients (in fact 11 clients).
Everything has been running properly during months since yesterday, when we found out that all Ignitions tags coming from KEPSERVEREX within the tag browser were in “Bad_Failure” quality. We checked almost everything into Ignition:
- Channel status were connected.
- OPC.UA security, certificates..etc…were good and not expired.
- tags were directly imported and no changes into opc-addresses has been made.
We try to re-import some tags in a differente folder, but quality stays “Bad_Failure”…we restart OPC module and even we re-start the full gateway and the issue was not solver.
I was curious that if we go to the Ignition quick client, and we suscribe to any of the KEPSERVEREX tags…quality was good!
Therefore we start thinking that the problem was really on the KEPSERVER side…but all the others OPC-UA clients connected to Ignition were receiving “Good” quality…
We have no more time…so we restart the full server machine…and everything was solved after that.
Don’t know really what “Bad_Failure” means, this is from Inductive doc: “A "failure" code was received from the underlying system. Additional details may be in the diagnostic message. This generally does not indicate an exception, which would be handled by Error_Exception, but instead a simple failure from a system that can return success or failure”
Theorically KEPSERVEEX has no client limits…but…
If you can give some feedback or idea…thanks!
