I was using a Text Area control to display a text file - this file has nearly 86,000 characters in it.

I loaded the file into the text Area and then clicked on the data in the Text property in the Property Editor. I then pressed the key to go to the end of the data and the FactoryPMI designer froze for 2 minutes. When it started functioning again the cursor in the Text property was still in the same place.

Also, when you move the focus away from the Text property and then move your mouse back over it, it displays a tooltip the width of the screen with only the first few characters of the string displayed.

Thanks for letting us know, we’ll improve the String editor’s behavior for large strings.
