We have a PLC and Ignition development team <5 people and a control room who has to provide feedback including plc automation suggestions, new features, HMI suggestions, bug fixes, etc... We currently use Notion internally just for Development team and that works great but Operations is moving from Zendesk to Fixxit and Fixxit isn't good for what we need. AWS and Azure's solutions seem way too robust (possibly expensive?) for what we need. What are you guys using for tracking ticketing and communication between Dev team and Operations/Control room? Thanks!
For "small" scale work tracking, I like kanban style boards. Trello is quasi-free, or was a few years ago when I last used it. Github (public or private) also has the ability to manage issues in a card-style "agile" board that's decent.
We use Youtrack. It's free for up to 10 users.
We use Youtrack internally at IA, and I'm a big fan of it, but I will say that it's a JIRA alternative and probably more than a small team necessarily needs.
I'm currently using Microsoft Planner to manage tasks internally between controls engineers (some in my company, some in the clients company).
This works fine for our scale.
However there has been some discussion around re-inventing the wheel and trying to replicate that sort of Kanban task tracking functionality in Ignition itself..
